THE HISTORY OF STARBIRD PRODUCTIONS

Jason D. Page unofficially founded Starbird Productions when he was about 16 years old. Jason started his photographic career by shooting video of his friends skateboarding and surfing. In 1999 Jason made his first skateboard video. He had a video premiere party and expected just a few friends to come to see the film. Jason was very surprised when more than 200 people showed up and wanted to buy the movie. Soon after that Starbird Productions was officially founded. With Jason leading the way Starbird Productions produced, shot, and edited 5 feature length actions sports videos. In early 2001 Starbird Productions produced their first hit surf video “AA Sponsored”. Jason says about this video “that movie was a window into the life we were all leading at the time, not to say that any of us are proud of it but it was what it was. Kids are pretty silly around the age of 20 we were just a little dumber than most.” AA Sponsored is a video filled with pranks and party footage and mixed together with some great surfing. All of the surfing footage was shot in Florida, a fact that Page is very proud of. After “AA Sponsored” Starbird Productions went on to shoot video and provide content for surf industry leaders such as Ezekiel, Billabong, and Lost. In 2008 Starbird Productions revamped itself. Starbird has broke from producing feature films and is now focused on creating online video content and providing stock footage for more mainstream outlets. Starbird Productions now provides content for programs featured on The Weather, Discovery, and History Channels, as well as creating online video content for a variety of businesses.
